Dai fiordi dell’ovest e dalle montagne dell’est fino alle isole settentrionali sotto il sole di mezzanotte – viaggiare in bicicletta è certamente uno dei modi migliori per vedere la spettacolare natura norvegese seguendo i tuoi ritmi. Ecco 13 dei percorsi ciclabili più panoramici del paese.
Non devi per forza essere in forma perfetta per viaggiare in bikepacking in Norvegia, anche se il paese è lungo e montuoso. La cosa più bella dei viaggi in bicicletta più lunghi è che puoi decidere esattamente quale deve essere la lunghezza di ogni tappa e quante volte vuoi fermarti.
Abbiamo raccolto una serie di itinerari ciclabili a lunga percorrenza che possono essere accorciati – o allungati – in base al tipo di vacanza che preferisci. Questi tour sono adatti alla maggior parte delle persone ma, se la strada ti sembra troppo lunga e il bagaglio troppo pesante, puoi noleggiare una e-bike per aiutarti ad alleggerire il giro. Oppure scegliere un pacchetto che include pernottamento e pasti, e magari anche il trasporto dei bagagli.

Stazione ferroviaria più vicina: Geilo o Finse
“La strada dei manovali”, o Rallarvegen in norvegese, è stata eletta molte volte quale ciclabile più bella della Norvegia, e oltre 25.000 persone percorrono ogni anno in bici la strada sterrata da Haugastøl presso Geilo, nella Norvegia orientale, fino a Flåm, nella Norvegia dei fiordi. Il percorso segue le linee ferroviarie di Bergen e Flåm e ciò ha perfettamente senso, visto che la strada ha preso il nome dai manovali che la utilizzavano per trasportare il materiale durante la costruzione dei binari intorno al 1900.
L’itinerario più comune è lungo 82 chilometri e inizia in montagna, a Haugastøl, a 1.000 metri sopra il livello del mare. Si snoda passando per Finse, Hallingskeid e Myrdal prima di terminare nel grazioso villaggio di Flåm, sul fiordo di Aurlandsfjord. Anche se procede quasi sempre in discesa, il punto più alto della Rallarvegen è a Fagernut a 1.310 metri. Per fortuna lì c’è un caffè – dove servono waffle con marmellata e panna acida!
Puoi percorrere l’intero tratto in un giorno, ma la maggior parte delle persone lo divide in due o tre tappe. È una buona idea acquistare un pacchetto per ciclisti che include pernottamento, pasti, noleggio bici e biglietti del treno.
Devi essere in buona forma per percorrere in bici la Rallarvegen, dato che il terreno in alcuni punti può essere impegnativo. Per evitare la folla scegli di andare al di fuori dell’alta stagione.

Una delle zone migliori del paese per andare in bicicletta è il Valdres, nella Norvegia orientale. Qui puoi viaggiare lungo centinaia di chilometri di itinerari segnalati che seguono principalmente strade di montagna poco trafficate. La strada Mjølkevegen, di 250 chilometri, è la più lunga, ma naturalmente non devi percorrerla tutta in una volta – puoi pianificare le tue tappe, che tu le voglia brevi e piacevoli o lunghe e pesanti. Puoi anche fermarti in un punto base e fare gite in giornata.
L’itinerario tra Vinstra nella valle di Gudbrandsdalen e Gol nella Hallingdal è considerato uno dei percorsi più belli della Norvegia e fa parte della Strada ciclabile nazionale numero 5. È segnalato in entrambe le direzioni e attraversa un’area di fattorie montane estive e rifugi, dove puoi fermarti per mangiare qualcosa di buono o pernottare. Lungo la strada ci sono anche alcuni hotel.
Un paio di alternative rispetto all’intera Mjølkevegen sono il percorso da Lemonsjø a Beitostølen (205 chilometri) e l’itinerario più breve e adatto alle famiglie da Vaset a Storefjell (35 chilometri).
Puoi noleggiare biciclette e e-bike in numerosi posti lungo la strada e ci sono tour operator che offrono pacchetti per cicloturismo che includono pernottamento, pasti e trasporto bagagli.

Il Canale del Telemark non è solo per le barche. Vicino al canale, in passato chiamato l’ottava meraviglia del mondo, piste ciclabili si diramano in ogni possibile direzione. I percorsi sono segnalati con il livello di difficoltà e puoi scegliere tra strade asfaltate, sentieri sterrati o una combinazione di entrambi.
L‘itinerario del Canale, lungo 115 chilometri, ti fa attraversare i paesaggi sorprendentemente selvaggi e spettacolari del Telemark e segue la Strada ciclabile nazionale numero 2 da Ulefoss a Dalen. Dovresti prevedere almeno due giorni per questo viaggio. A Eidsfoss puoi attraversare le chiuse con la bici e, se sei stanco, puoi farti dare un passaggio da una delle imbarcazioni sul canale.
Lungo il tragitto troverai posti dove pernottare per ciclisti, come ad esempio le divertenti “sleeping box” a Bandaksli e Fjågesund. Se non vuoi pianificare tu tutto il viaggio puoi acquistare dei pacchetti che includono pernottamento, pasti e biglietti per le imbarcazioni.
La ciclabile del Canale è contrassegnata come impegnativa e non consigliata a bambini e ciclisti inesperti. Ma molti degli altri percorsi sono più facili e adatti a tutta la famiglia. I più piccoli potrebbero perfino essere felici di fare qualche chilometro in più e trascorrere una giornata al parco acquatico Bø Sommarland!

Percorri il Tour de Dovre e attraversa in bici i tre parchi nazionali di Rondane, Dovre e Dovrefjell, con panorami fantastici su montagne, fiordi e vallate. Ci sono numerose possibilità di pernottamento lungo la strada, quindi puoi impiegare quanti giorni vuoi per questo viaggio. Prendi il treno per Dombås, noleggia lì una bicicletta e scegli la strada Nasjonalparkveien verso Hjerkinn. L’itinerario continua attraverso la valle di Folldalen prima di arrivare a quella che molti ritengono sia la valle più bella della Norvegia, Grimsdalen. Da lì torni pedalando verso Dovre e Dombås.
Se segui l’itinerario più breve, il viaggio è lungo circa 125 chilometri. Ma pianifica alcune deviazioni se hai qualche giorno a disposizione! Puoi fare un safari al bue muschiato o all’alce, fermarti ad ammirare l’arte a Hjerkinn, salire al punto panoramico Snøhetta (1 chilometro e mezzo a piedi) e fare un’escursione sulla cima del Monte Snøhetta.
Questo viaggio è considerato impegnativo, ma è assolutamente fattibile se lo dividi in tappe brevi. Se ti serve una spinta puoi noleggiare una e-bike, inoltre troverai deliziosi cibi locali lungo il percorso, abbastanza da ritenerti soddisfatto.

L’intero itinerario della ciclabile del Mare del Nord è lungo 6.000 chilometri e attraversa Gran Bretagna, Belgio, Olanda, Germania, Danimarca, Svezia e Norvegia. Fin dal 2003 questo percorso detiene il Guinness dei primati come ciclabile segnalata e continua più lunga al mondo.
Scegli uno dei tratti più belli, tra Egersund e Sola nella Norvegia dei fiordi (itinerario chiamato anche Jærruta). Pedalerai lungo le spiagge di Jæren, con luci che hanno ispirato pittori, fotografi e scrittori. Se vuoi un viaggio più lungo puoi proseguire verso nord fino a Stavanger e Haugesund, o nella direzione opposta verso Kristiansand nella Norvegia meridionale.

• Da’ la precedenza a chi arriva dalla tua destra.
• Non bere alcolici quando vai in bici.
Puoi andare in bicicletta sui marciapiedi, ma riduci la velocità.
Non puoi andare in bicicletta su autostrade e strade a doppia carreggiata.
Solo i bambini di età inferiore ai 10 anni possono essere trasportati come passeggeri.
Indossa sempre il casco quando vai in bicicletta. È meglio indossare un giubbotto ad alta visibilità, soprattutto sulle strade trafficate.

Se vuoi vivere al meglio l’esperienza del Nordovest dei fiordi puoi percorrere in bici il classico tour dei fiordi da Molde a Ålesund nella Norvegia dei fiordi. Se affronti tutti i 549 chilometri potrai scoprire la Strada Atlantica, Trollstigen, il Geirangerfjord e lo Hjørundfjord, solo per citare alcune delle attrazioni principali.
Lungo il tragitto attraverserai ponti ai margini dell’oceano, pedalerai lungo splendidi fiordi apparentemente senza fine, attraverso verdi vallate, e risalirai ripide montagne – prima di ridiscendere dall’altra parte.
Una grande varietà di ristoranti propone deliziosi cibi locali – i fiordi in particolare forniscono saporite materie prime – e le possibilità di pernottamento sono tante, sia che tu preferisca stare in accoglienti casette dei pescatori sia in hotel esclusivi.

Tutto attorno al fiordo di Oslo troverai sentieri costieri e stradine perfette per il cicloturismo. Il viaggio lungo la costa da Moss nell’Østfold fino a Horten nel Vestfold è lungo circa 215 chilometri, ma in quest’area puoi scegliere tra distanze brevi e lunghe – e metterci il tempo che vuoi per il tuo giro.
Pedala attraverso accoglienti villaggi come Son, Hvitsten, Drøbak e Filtvet, ed esplora la capitale della nazione, Oslo. Se fa troppo caldo puoi sempre fermarti per un rinfrescante bagno nel fiordo.
Un grande vantaggio è che non devi portare con te molto cibo, perché ci sono tantissimi ristoranti lungo il percorso. Attorno all’Oslofjord c’è anche una vasta scelta di possibilità di pernottamento – hotel, ostelli, chalet e campeggi. O magari una notte in una casa sugli alberi?

Alle Vesterålen, appena a nord delle Lofoten, si trova l’isola di Andøya, con il vecchio villaggio di pescatori di Andenes sulla punta più settentrionale che fa da grazioso “centro”. Qui puoi noleggiare una bici e pedalare per 100 chilometri attorno all’isola – ma prima dovresti partecipare a un safari alle balene.
Percorri in bicicletta la stupenda Strada turistica nazionale che corre lungo il mare sul lato ovest dell’isola. Non importa se parti tardi perché il sole di mezzanotte fornisce luce a sufficienza per tutta la notte. Fai sosta al Centro spaziale prima di dirigerti verso il pittoresco paesino di Bleik, dove puoi fare un bagno gelido alla stupenda spiaggia di sabbia bianca. Se ti serve un’altra pausa vale la pena fermarsi all’area per picnic di Bukkekjerka, mentre alla fattoria Nordtun puoi comprare formaggio delizioso per il pranzo e accarezzare un lama. Alveland a Dverberg ha ottimi dolci alla cannella e divertenti souvenir di sapone (!).
Se vuoi impiegare più di un giorno per questo viaggio puoi dormire a Risøyhamn o a Dverberg. L’itinerario procede su un terreno piuttosto pianeggiante ed è adatto a tutti.

Parti con la bici da Bergen o Voss e pedala per 303 chilometri attraverso il fantastico paesaggio dei fiordi. Il grandioso tour dei fiordi è un itinerario circolare sulla costa occidentale che ti fa passare da Voss e Myrkdalen, lungo la Strada turistica nazionale di Gaularfjellet, attraverso Førde sulla Costa dei fiordi e lungo il Sognefjord.
Prevedi qualche giorno in più per andare in esplorazione della zona e pernotta ad esempio allo storico Kviknes Hotel a Balestrand. Scopri gioielli nascosti e sentieri escursionistici, vai in kayak o fai un’escursione guidata su un ghiacciaio. In ogni caso una piccola pausa dalla bici può essere una bella idea.
Questo percorso prevede tappe con salite impegnative e discese su piste ripide con tornanti, quindi devi pianificare il giro in base alla tue condizioni e all’esperienza in bici. Se la cosa ti preoccupa puoi noleggiare una e-bike – o andare con una guida.

La pista di 68 chilometri per mountain bike Lavkaløypa inizia a Storfjord, nella regione di Lyngenfjord, e attraversa la verde vallata di Kitdalen prima di farti salire a circa 800 metri. Ma non appena superi il limite degli alberi scoprirai che il panorama vale la fatica.
Dalla cima scendi lungo la valle di Skibotndal prima di terminare a Skibotn. Questo percorso segue lo stesso itinerario della gara per mountain bike Lavkarittet ma, anche se ti serve una mountain bike, il sentiero non è tecnicamente particolarmente difficile. In discesa pedali principalmente su stradine sterrate e i sentieri sono ben praticabili.
Lungo il percorso ti imbatterai in resti di storia militare, poiché i prigionieri di guerra costruirono parti del sentiero durante la Seconda guerra mondiale. Per il resto è la natura l’attrazione principale di questo itinerario. Non ci sono posti dove mangiare o pernottare, quindi portati cibo e acqua a sufficienza.
La pista è faticosa ma fattibile se sei in buona forma e vai con calma. Puoi noleggiare le biciclette in diversi posti nella regione di Lyngenfjord.
