Un road trip panoramico ad Andøya
Andøya è situata all’estremo nord delle isole Vesterålen, nella Norvegia settentrionale.
La Strada turistica di Andøya corre lungo la costa occidentale dell’isola, tra Andenes al nord e Bjørnskinn al sud.
Puoi noleggiare un’auto in uno degli aeroporti, o prendere a noleggio una bici in uno degli hotel locali. L’itinerario di 58 chilometri è perfetto per essere percorso in bicicletta, senza grandi salite e con un paesaggio costiero vario e interessante.
Widerøe ha voli diretti per Andøya da Tromsø e Bodø e collegamenti internazionali per l’aeroporto di Harstad/Narvik, a Evenes, a solo due ore di distanza. In estate la compagnia aerea Norwegian ha voli diretti tra Oslo e Andøya.
Hurtigruten fa scalo a Risøyhamn sull’isola di Andøya due volte al giorno tutto l’anno. In estate c’è un collegamento giornaliero in traghetto tra Andenes su Andøya e Gryllefjord sull’isola di Senja.
Ci sono anche linee di pullman da Sortland, Lofoten e Narvik.

Iniziamo da Andenes, la cittadina più grande di Andøya.
Se hai pensato di partecipare a un safari alle balene (assolutamente da non perdere!), Andenes è il punto di partenza.
La Norvegia settentrionale e le Vesterålen, in particolare, sono un posto unico al mondo per fare whale watching, con un’alta probabilità di avvistare le balene!

Vicino ad Andenes facciamo una piccola deviazione dalla Strada turistica nazionale… per lo spazio!
L’isola ospita l’unica base di lancio permanente in Norvegia, Andøya Space.
Presso il centro visitatori dello Spaceship Aurora puoi provare come ci si sente a lanciare il tuo razzo e imparare di più sull’affascinante fenomeno delle aurore boreali!
La prossima tappa è a Kleivodden, un’area di sosta ai piedi di ripide pareti montuose.
Da qui hai una vista magnifica sulla spiaggia di Bleik, sull’isoletta di Bleik, a forma di cono, e l’orizzonte infinito dell’oceano.
Attraversiamo l’unico tunnel sull’isola di Andøya e dopo il buio…
… arriviamo a questa spiaggia di sabbia bianchissima!
Bleikstranda ricorda più una scenografia da Signore degli anelli che una spiaggia tropicale con caldo e palme, ma è il posto ideale per fotografare l’aurora boreale in inverno o il sole di mezzanotte in estate.
Dalla spiaggia di Bleik si vede l’isola a forma di triangolo di Bleikøya.
Quest’isoletta è una riserva ornitologica e ospita una delle più grandi colonie di pulcinella di mare della Norvegia! Osserva questi uccelli da vicino con un safari guidato.

Se ne hai il tempo e il meteo lo permette prenditi il pranzo al sacco e sali sul monte Røyken, la montagna che svetta sopra Bleik.
Raggiungere la cima non è molto impegnativo e avrai una splendida vista sulla spiaggia di Bleik, sul grazioso villaggio di Andenes e sulle pianeggianti brughiere di camemori.
Se vuoi fare altre escursioni a piedi puoi percorrere il Sentiero costiero di 9 chilometri da Bleik a Stave.
Il sentiero si snoda tra zone paludose, il litorale roccioso, spiagge e montagne…
Il monte Måtind è il punto più alto sulla costa. Questo è il posto da cui potrai godere del miglior panorama.
Una volta arrivato al villaggio di Stave potrai rilassarti subito con un idromassaggio caldo e sauna sulla spiaggia presso il campeggio, mentre ascolti il suono delle onde. Un’esperienza che sarà di sicuro una coccola per mente e corpo!
La prossima attrazione vale la pena di essere vista anche se non hai necessità di trovarla ;)
In Norvegia ci sono delle aeree di sosta con toilette davvero particolari, come questa a Bukkekjerka, dove la vetrata a specchio unidirezionale ti permette di ammirare la vista panoramica sul mare (mentre sei comodamente seduto).
Non perderti questo piccolo faro, Børhella fyr, a pochi passi dal parcheggio.
Puoi vedere sullo sfondo la bella strada serpeggiante!
Prima di terminare il tuo giro sulla punta sud-ovest dell’isola fermati da Marmelkroken. Questo resort nella natura offre sistemazioni confortevoli, ristorazione e interessanti attività.
Il suo architettonico capanno per le tempeste ti permette ti ammirare la natura artica con qualsiasi tempo. Potresti anche avvistare degli uccelli artici!
Dovresti esplorare un po’ anche il lato orientale dell’isola!
A Dverberg c’è un graziosissimo negozio e caffè che si chiama Alveland, ‘la terra degli elfi’, specializzato in prodotti naturali, saponi artigianali e deliziosi e freschissimi panini dolci alla cannella.
Di ritorno ad Andenes, fermati a vedere questa costruzione iconica, il faro di Andenes. Alto 40 metri, è uno dei fari più alti della Norvegia!
