L’inverno in Norvegia

L’inverno è fatto per divertirsi! Anche se le giornate sono più corte puoi andare a sciare o provare tante altre divertenti attività all’aria aperta. Nell’Artico ti aspettano balene e aurore boreali. “La stagione dei Vichinghi” ti offre anche la possibilità di vivere l’esperienza dei fiordi senza folla.

Tempo e clima

In inverno la temperatura media in Norvegia è – 6,8°C, ma le condizioni locali possono variare molto. Nella zona di Oslo le nevicate sono frequenti e le temperature medie invernali appena sotto lo zero.

Le zone interne meno elevate di Finnmark, Troms, Trøndelag, e Norvegia orientale possono avere inverni molto freddi con tantissima neve.

Le regioni interne della Norvegia settentrionale hanno un clima artico con neve e temperature rigide, però il clima è di solito molto più mite nelle zone costiere grazie alla Corrente del Golfo. Sono spesso presenti venti forti.

Le zone costiere della Norvegia dei fiordi e della Norvegia meridionale godono anch’esse di un clima più mite, con temperature al livello del mare intorno allo zero. Gran parte della regione è comunque fredda e nevosa, il che assicura condizioni ideali per lo sci, specialmente in montagna.

In inverno gran parte della Norvegia si trasforma in un paradiso innevato, il che offre le condizioni ideali per fare tante entusiasmanti attività invernali in mezzo a una natura straordinaria. E il nostro amore per la neve è davvero profondo. Lo sci ha un posto speciale nella cultura e nella storia norvegese e, durante questa stagione bianca, persone di ogni età vanno nelle località sciistiche, nelle foreste e sulle montagne per godersi le eccellenti discese e le piste preparate.

Ci sono anche tante attività divertenti da fare senza gli sci, come slittino, escursioni con le ciaspole, sleddog e safari alle balene. O forse preferisci una tranquilla crociera sui fiordi, durante la quale ti puoi godere la vista delle montagne innevate che si riflettono sull’acqua.

L’inverno è anche il periodo perfetto per provare in tutta calma alcuni dei viaggi in treno più spettacolari al mondo. E a novembre e dicembre puoi trovare graziosi Mercatini di Natale un po’ in tutto il paese.

L’aurora boreale

Le notti invernali sono lunghe in tutta la Norvegia. Da metà novembre fino alla fine di gennaio nella maggior parte della Norvegia settentrionale il sole non sorge per niente, o sale appena sopra l’orizzonte. Comunque non è per niente completamente buio per tutto il tempo, inoltre la neve rischiara il paesaggio in modo molto poetico. Nelle giornate serene, specialmente nella parte più a sud di questa regione artica, puoi avere diverse ore di luce diurna e dei meravigliosi colori al tramonto, mentre il cielo al nord è di un blu profondo.

Con un po’ di fortuna potrebbe apparire in cielo l’aurora boreale! Si può vedere più facilmente al nord, ma in rare occasioni può essere avvistata anche in tutto il resto della Norvegia. I mesi migliori per ammirare questo magico spettacolo di luci vanno da ottobre a marzo.

Clima invernale

Il clima varia molto da regione a regione in questa nazione così estesa. Lungo la costa la temperatura di solito oscilla intorno allo zero. Nell’entroterra invece le temperature sono in genere più basse e possono scendere anche fino a 10-20 gradi sottozero. In alcuni luoghi si può perfino arrivare a un gelido meno 40 gradi!

Come vestirsi in inverno

Gli inverni in Norvegia possono essere molto freddi, anche se talvolta capita che siano abbastanza miti. Come vestirsi per le attività all'aperto dipende quindi da quello che fai e da dove lo fai.

Vestiti in modo caldo e a strati. Utilizza la lana piuttosto che cotone o poliestere, e fai in modo di proteggerti dall’umidità e non farti sorprendere dal vento. Una giacca antivento e antipioggia ti sarà utile nelle zone costiere, dove potrebbe essere piovoso. Se pensi di non praticare delle attività un piumino pesante e dei pantaloni da neve, insieme a biancheria intima termica, ti terrà ben al caldo.

Ricorda anche che, in presenza di vento, l’effetto “wind-chill” ti farà percepire il freddo molto più di quanto indicherebbe la temperatura reale. E più il vento è forte più l’effetto è maggiore.

Non dimenticare poi che l’inverno è il momento migliore dell’anno per imparare la nobile arte del ‘kos’, con tante candele e il calore di un caminetto scoppiettante. Inoltre non sei mai troppo distante da una sauna bella calda!

Cibo e bevande di stagione

L'inverno è il periodo migliore per gustare il pesce fresco. La fine di gennaio segna anche l’inizio della stagione dello skrei, quando il merluzzo artico migra dal Mare di Barents per riprodursi nelle acque più tiepide intorno alle isole Lofoten e Vesterålen.

I piatti a base di pesce, agnello, maiale e cervo sono popolari specialità natalizie che si possono trovare in molti ristoranti nel periodo che precede le feste. Se hai voglia di assaggiare cose molto particolari puoi provare alcuni cibi tradizionali norvegesi come smalahove (testa di pecora affumicata), lutefisk (stoccafisso ammollato nella soda caustica) e pinnekjøtt (costolette di montone essiccate, salate e cotte al vapore). Ma non preoccuparti, supermercati e negozi sono ben forniti di ogni tipo di cibo, anche internazionale, e ci sono ristoranti per tutti i gusti.
