Il paesino di Voss ti dà il benvenuto con montagne incappucciate di neve, vallate rigogliose, fiumi impetuosi, cascate e laghi tranquilli. Ospita 15.000 abitanti ed è situato in posizione privilegiata tra Bergen, il Sognefjord e l’Hardangerfjord.

Sulla cima del monte Hangurstoppen, a 820 metri d’altezza, c’è il ristorante più grande della cittadina.

Questa regione ha importanti tradizioni gastronomiche e perfino lo chef Gordon Ramsay è venuto a Voss per provare il piatto tipico locale, “smalahove” (la testa di pecora). Puoi assaggiare questa specialità alla fattoria Smalahovetunet. Sul menu troverai anche carne essiccata, costolette di agnello salate ed essiccate cotte al vapore, e porridge di panna acida.

Si svolgono in questo villaggio anche numerosi eventi molto conosciuti come Vossa Jazz ed Ekstremsportveko, il maggior festival mondiale di sport estremi!
