A maggio 2021 il Financial Times ha nominato le Lofoten la settima miglior destinazione in Europa per l’arrampicata.

Con le spettacolari pareti rocciose, le innumerevoli opportunità di bouldering e un sole di mezzanotte senza fine, le Lofoten e in particolare Henningsvær, richiamano scalatori e alpinisti da tutto il mondo.

Stetind, una vetta di quasi 1.400 metri d’altezza presso Narvik, nella Norvegia settentrionale, è una bellissima e popolare meta per l’arrampicata. La montagna è di per sé una veduta spettacolare, ma la vista dalla cima sarà un ricordo per tutta la vita. È una salita ripida e impegnativa, quindi devi essere in buona forma fisica.

Se vuoi goderti al meglio l’escursione, e farlo in tutta sicurezza, ti consigliamo di compiere l’arrampicata di Stetind con una guida alpina certificata.

La selvaggia catena montuosa di Hurrungane, nei monti Jotunheimen, attrae molti alpinisti e sciatori con le sue straordinarie cime. Qui troverai un paesaggio alpino molto vario, che offre a un escursionista tutto quello che potrebbe desiderare.

Una delle mete più gettonate per l’arrampicata è Store Skagastølstind, la terza cima più alta della Norvegia.

Il percorso parte da Turtagrø, hotel e punto di partenza centrale nello Jotunheimen. Da qui procedi nella valle di Skagadalen prima di arrampicare fino al rifugio Bandet (nella foto) e proseguire fino alla vetta. L’escursione è un itinerario particolarmente impegnativo di 12-15 ore in totale e devi essere in buona forma fisica.

Troverai ottime possibilità di arrampicata anche a Åndalsnes, dove tra le mete preferite ci sono Trollveggen, Romsdalshorn, Bispen e Hornaksla, per citarne solo alcune.

Se sei in cerca di posti adatti al bouldering dovresti provare a Mjelva e Skiri.

La 'cima' che vedi qui è il Norsk Tindesenter, il Centro norvegese per l’arrampicata, dove puoi imparare di più su questo tipo di attività attraverso mostre interattive e mettere alla prova la tua paura dell’altezza su una delle pareti attrezzate al coperto più alte della Norvegia - 21 metri!

Con i suoi 47 metri di altezza Over a Lillesand è la più alta torre di arrampicata free-standing al mondo. Scala la torre fino in cima, con o senza una guida – oppure sali per le scale, un’esperienza comunque emozionante. Ammira il fantastico panorama della regione mentre cammini sul pavimento in vetro della torre.

In inverno potrai cimentarti con la piccozza per scalare le cascate ghiacciate a Rjukan, considerate tra i posti migliori nell’Europa settentrionale per l’arrampicata su ghiaccio!

Geitgallien (nella foto) alle Lofoten è un’altra destinazione popolare in inverno per l’arrampicata su ghiaccio, che richiede piccozza e ramponi.

Ma fai attenzione e ricorda l’arrampicata su ghiaccio senza una guida dovrebbe essere fatta solo dagli scalatori molto esperti.

Sei un patito di adrenalina ma non hai nessuna esperienza di arrampicata? In questo caso una via ferrata potrebbe essere quello che fa per te. La via ferrata è un tipo di arrampicata in cui il percorso è assicurato da un cavo di acciaio e ancoraggi ed è quindi adatto anche a famiglie con figli grandi.

Vengono aperte spesso nuove vie: attualmente in Norvegia ci sono circa 20 vie ferrate, tra cui quella iconica di Trolltunga (nella foto). O magari hai il coraggio di provare una delle vie più difficili della Norvegia, la "Ragnarok Extreme" a Loen?

Quando si sale si deve (di solito) anche scendere!

La discesa in corda doppia, che consente di calarsi lungo una parete sostenuti da corda e imbragatura, è un’esperienza fantastica tanto quanto la salita.
