Un viaggio in inverno nella Norvegia settentrionale è un must sia per pescatori sia per gourmet. La pesca alle Lofoten è famosa per essere la più grande pesca al merluzzo del mondo.
Il merluzzo artico è uno dei prodotti migliori e più sostenibili della Norvegia. Tra gennaio e aprile migra per riprodursi dal Mare di Barents alla costa norvegese, da Haugesund nel sud fino al Finnmark nel nord.
Da sempre fino a metà di tutti i merluzzi ritornano nelle zone intorno alle Lofoten, dove i loro genitori si erano riprodotti almeno tre o quatto anni prima. Questo ha reso la pesca alle Lofoten, "lofotfiske", la più grande pesca stagionale al merluzzo del mondo. Negli ultimi anni comunque, molti dei merluzzi artici sono migrati ancora più a nord, verso posti come le Vesterålen e Senja.
L’inverno è solitamente l’alta stagione per la pesca anche nel resto della Norvegia settentrionale. Partecipa a un’escursione guidata di pesca, noleggia una barca o pesca da terra, circondato da bianche, imponenti montagne.
D’inverno puoi anche sciare, partecipare a un tour guidato sugli sci, e visitare alcuni dei molti musei e degli incantevoli villaggi di pescatori. Potresti anche vedere l’aurora boreale!
Puoi gustare il merluzzo appena pescato nei molti eccellenti ristoranti di pesce nel nord. Ma non preoccuparti se non riesci a venire in questa parte del paese, perché anche gli chef delle grandi città come Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger e Ålesund preparano il merluzzo in modo creativo e raffinato.
Durante il resto dell’anno puoi assaggiare infinite versioni dello stoccafisso (merluzzo essiccato) – un must quando vieni nel nord.

Se sei appassionato di pesca devi venire nella Norvegia settentrionale tra gennaio e aprile. In questo periodo dell’anno hai praticamente la garanzia di pescare qualcosa di gustoso per cena.
