    Jazzpotet - Lørdag 29 august 2026

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO WHAT JAZZ:POTET IS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NEW: Even though we are a very small jazz club, we have received praise for our unique concept both at home and abroad, in the media and more, due to our own approach to running a jazz club. We are the jazz club that does not book bands, but bandleaders who are given the freedom to put together whatever they want. This always creates new sessions and music for both musicians and audiences. We will always invest in Bergen, but also have visitors from both Norway and abroad, sometimes also with International Sessions. As a Bergen jazz club we naturally take pride in this. And we are very happy to inspire other jazz clubs and concepts at home and abroad with our creativity. WE exist because you use us! Thank you so much Bergen and welcome to Jazz:potet 2025! Trondheim
    27.08.2026

    The Other End

The Other End is part of a wave of up-and-coming indie and Americana artists in Norway. In 2023, they made their debut with the album The Sun Will Do You Good, They Said, which received rave reviews in the Norwegian press. Dagbladet gave it a 6, calling it a "sensational debut." Last year, The Other End returned with the album Core Values. Popklikk named the album the best Norwegian release of 2025. Musikknyheter called it “.. one of the best Norwegian albums of the fall.” They also played a support concert at Moskus, which was one of last year’s most pleasant surprises! The single Peeking Over the Top was A-listed on NRK P3 Musikk throughout the fall and was even the most played song on Stjernepose on P3 Musikk that season. Core Values is about being caught between roles, always a little in the wrong place. Inspired by UX designers with rap careers, haiku poets with laptop bags and bank jobs, artists balancing creativity and everyday life. The Other End has already played at Øyafestivalen, SXSW (Austin, Texas), New Colossus Festival (New York), as well as a number of concerts in Norway and abroad. The duo consists of Ida Knoph-Solholm and Alexander Breidvik. The concert is a mix of sitting and standing, if you want to sit you should get there early. No seat reservations!

    Otis Gibbs (US)

Otis Gibbs is finally back - and on 25 August he comes to Lille Ole Bull! After many years of absence and countless questions it is finally confirmed: Otis Gibbs returns and on 25 August he comes to Lille Ole Bull. The singer and songwriter from Wanamaker, Indiana, has long had a dedicated audience at home, and the reunion has been missed. Otis Gibbs is far more than a traditional songwriter. In addition to the music he has found success as a visual artist, podcast host and programme creator. The podcast Thanks For Giving A Damn quickly became a favourite and led further to the Pandora series Country Built, which today reaches millions of listeners. He has also built up a strong presence on YouTube. Musically Otis Gibbs is rooted in the American storytelling tradition, with roots in artists such as Woody Guthrie, Joe Hill and Bruce Springsteen. He sings about people and stories from a working, unfinished America – seen from a consistent underdog perspective. His lyrics are about work, travel, longing and the realities of life, conveyed with honesty and warmth. With a dozen albums behind him, and the critically acclaimed release The Trust of Crows as his latest, Otis Gibbs is a rare and authentic voice. That he now returns makes these concerts a truly special occasion. This concert is part of the concert series Bergen Live Sessions.

  • Håkon Magnar Skogstad: '24 Variations for Piano'
    Trondheim
    26.08.2026

Håkon Magnar Skogstad: '24 Variations for Piano'

24 Variations for Piano consists of 24 movements in 24 keys and are variations on a main theme that is introduced at the beginning. The work can be considered a kind of "traveling exhibition", where the audience is presented with 24 very different and colorful images, but which all follow a clear common thread. Skogstad's composition is inspired by classical forms, and takes up impulses from famous composers such as Debussy, Ravel, Grieg, Liszt, Musorgsky and Rachmaninov, Chopin and Bach. Skogstad combines these impulses with inspiration from Argentine tango style and Astor Piazzolla. The result is a unique work that plays on a fusion of musical impulses in Skogstad's distinctive tonal language and rhythm. Stylistically, the work can be considered somewhere between the Goldberg Variations, the Chopin Preludes and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. Håkon Magnar Skogstad (b.1989) is a critically acclaimed Norwegian pianist and composer with classical piano education from Trondheim, Oslo and New York. He completed his artistic doctorate at NTNU in 2022. Skogstad has played concerts in large parts of Norway, as well as in the USA, Argentina, Germany, Austria, Spain and Sweden. He has received a number of awards, including the Paul Okkenhaug Prize in 2018 and the Spellemann Prize in 2021 for his album "Visions of Tango" with Atle Sponberg and the Trondheim Soloists, which includes Skogstad's original tango piano concerto. As a composer, Skogstad has arranged and composed over 80 works, including several major commissioned works, including "Concerto for Tuba and String Orchestra", premiered by August Schieldrop and KORK and broadcast on NRK. His music has been played on national radio in Norway, Germany and Argentina and at the time of writing has over 300,000 plays on Spotify alone.

Spend a full summer day enjoying outdoor and indoor concerts, exhibitions, visual experiences, workshops, and performing arts across a variety of venues in and around the artist house. The guests of honor during the relay are the fighters, those who have or have had cancer themselves. You can participate by fielding a team, as a volunteer, as a fighter, or by contributing in other ways! What happens within 24 hours? The relay lasts for a full 24 hours to symbolize the struggle cancer patients are in, and that there should always be someone on the field for them. Families, friends, schools, associations and workplaces form teams and participate by having at least one team member on the field throughout the 24 hours. Behind every team there is often a story, a person that the team wants to support, remember or celebrate. Entertainment and lighting ceremony: Along the way, there will be entertainment and an atmospheric lighting ceremony. Here we will light candles in paper bags with personal greetings to remember those who have passed away, and to give strength to those who continue to fight. Who can participate? Relay for Life is organized by volunteers and is the Norwegian version of the American Relay For Life. It is free to participate, and everyone is welcome! Money is raised for the cancer cause through the sale of light bags and the teams' own digital fundraising. What does it mean to field a team? As a participant on a team, you support the cancer cause and create a meaningful experience with friends and colleagues. You can form teams regardless of whether you know someone who is affected or not. Each participant decides for themselves whether they want to run, walk, push a stroller or use a wheelchair/roller. The most important thing is the community! What does it mean to be a fighter? If you have, or have had cancer, you can participate as a fighter. The fighters are our guests of honor and are invited to a very special program with entertainment and a three-course dinner. You also open the relay by walking the very first lap together. REGISTRATION: Sign up for a team or register as a fighter here: 👉 https://pamelding.stafettforlivet.no/stafett/trondheim/ CONTACT PERSON: Hilde Wormdahl, advisor, Central Norway Cancer Association 📧 [email protected] 📞 98 43 54 13 We look forward to seeing everyone in August.

Fine French Orchestra // Antikvariatet (Extra Concert)

The Fine French Orchestra returns to Antikvariatet for the third time, and it has become a tradition! Concerts on both Tuesday and Wednesday! It is impossible not to be charmed by Fint Frans Orkester. This group is so French with their virtuoso fingertips that they can make the most arrogant waiter in Lyon blush with embarrassment. If you haven't just been to Paris, this is the closest you will get to Montmartre. With style, elegance and humor, they take you deep into the French chanson tradition and introduce you to a unique world of original songs and colorful characters. A must for Francophiles! The orchestra offers chansons and cabaret, string swing and hip hop, cœur et douleur (heart and pain), freshly polished trombone and newly tuned accordion, beautiful solo singing and delicious duets. But first and foremost, it's about the biggest and most important thing of all, AMOUR! And it's almost impossible not to fall in love. The repertoire includes notes and lyrics penned by the orchestra itself, in classic chanson style, but also expect a cornucopia of musical expressions: Traditional bal-musette and chanson, blues that begin where Tom Waits ends, string swing and slick 70s fusion, bossa nova and cumbia that take you to a tropical rainforest, only to suddenly end up in a small village in Eastern Europe at a steamy Balkan party. Virtuoso and playful, beautiful and elegant, from what is probably the only original French-language band in Norway. As the French Embassy in Oslo says about the orchestra: "Le plus norvégien des groupes français ou le plus français des groupes norvégiens."
