Il segreto dello sci sta nei dettagli

Sciare come un norvegese è qualcosa di profondamente radicato in tradizioni e rituali. Oppure dimenticati di tutto e concentrati solo su discese e salti adrenalinici.

Parlando di sci in Norvegia ti sarà probabilmente stata raccontata la storia del leggendario norvegese Sondre Nordheim, l'inventore dei primi attacchi stabili per gli sci e spesso considerato il pioniere dello sci moderno.

Comunque il mondo dello sci ha fatto, per fortuna, molti progressi dalla metà del XIX secolo e parlare di sci in Norvegia oggi potrebbe benissimo riguardare per lo più lo snowboard e le evoluzioni freestyle negli snowpark - o addirittura lo snowkite.

Nelle stazioni sciistiche in alta montagna la stagione dura dall’autunno alla primavera mentre alcuni - se sono su un ghiacciaio - sono aperti anche in estate. Anche se ci sono piste per il fondo e stazioni per lo sci alpino in tutto il paese, le località più grandi e più popolari si trovano sulle montagne della Norvegia centrale e orientale. Oltre a impianti di risalita e piste per discesa e per il fondo offrono alloggio, buon cibo e vita notturna.

Se però cerchi di fare un’esperienza sugli sci in Norvegia autentica e tradizionale non devi concentrarti tanto sull’aspetto tecnico o su dove e quando andare, quanto sulle usanze e tradizioni. Le attività invernali sono profondamente radicate nella cultura norvegese, il che spiega perché ci siano così tanti rituali (e opinioni diverse) quante sono le piste da sci.

Prova ad esempio a fare un'escursione di sci di fondo nella foresta e porta uno zaino pieno di arance, thermos di cioccolata calda o punch al ribes nero, un "matpakke" norvegese (pranzo al sacco) e tappetini di gomma per sederti all'aperto.

E prima di prepararti e allacciare gli sci parla con una persona del posto per farti dare tutti i dettagli giusti - come ad esempio quale marca di cioccolato portare. Così potrai mimetizzarti tra i norvegesi in men che non si dica.

    Fai attenzione in montagna seguendo queste semplici regole:

    1. Organizza il tuo viaggio e informa qualcuno sul percorso che hai scelto.
    2. Adatta i percorsi programmati in base alle capacità e alle condizioni.
    3. Fai attenzione al tempo e agli avvisi delle valanghe.
    4. Preparati a maltempo e gelo, anche nei tragitti brevi.
    5. Porta le attrezzature necessarie in modo da poter aiutare sé stessi e gli altri.
    6. Scegli percorsi sicuri. Impara a riconoscere terreni franosi e ghiacci pericolosi.
    7. Utilizza una mappa e una bussola. Devi sempre sapere dove ti trovi.
    8. Non vergognarti di tornare indietro.
    9. Conserva le forze e cerca riparo, se necessario.

    Che si tratti di escursioni in montagna o gite in bicicletta su una strada in mezzo alle foreste, i norvegesi cercano di causare il minor impatto ambientale possibile. Lascia come vuoi trovare è il mantra, a prescindere da dove sei.

    La qualità della vita è alla base di tutto, non solo oggi ma anche per coloro che verranno. Bisogna comprendere che gli altri sono importanti quanto noi stessi, e applicare tale pensiero a tutti gli aspetti della vita. Non è né facile né veloce. Ma ne vale sicuramente la pena.
