The menu varies according to the season, and the chef draws inspiration from Finnmarksvidda (The Finnmark Plateau). During the summer we open up our outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy a good meal and refreshments under the midnight sun, right by the waterfront of the fjord. The bar serves drinks in an enjoyable atmosphere.

Venne eretta presso il confine russo nel 1869 per demarcare la frontiera e sorvegliare la riva norvegese del fiume.

Kirkenes è l’ultimo porto di attracco delle navi della rotta costiera di Hurtigruten e Havila, ma puoi iniziare qui la tua crociera e navigare verso sud lungo tutta la costa della Norvegia. Con un po’ di fortuna, nella stagione giusta, potrai ammirare l’aurora boreale.

    Le strade sono buone e per la maggior parte sono aperte tutto l’anno, tranne alcuni passi montani per raggiungere piccoli villaggi di pescatori sulla costa, che potrebbero a volte venire chiusi in inverno. Leggi di più su guidare nella Norvegia settentrionale.

    I pullman express a lunga distanza collegano questa regione al resto del paese, ma le partenze non sono frequenti, quindi è necessario pianificare con cura il viaggio.

    Le navi di Hurtigruten e Havila fanno scalo nei seguenti porti della penisola di Varanger: Berlevåg, Båtsfjord, Vardø e Vadsø.

    Kirkenes è l’ultimo scalo della rotta, poi le navi ritornano verso Bergen, nella Norvegia dei fiordi, fermandosi negli stessi porti del viaggio di andata (ad eccezione di Vadsø).

    L’aeroporto di Kirkenes è il principale nella regione e offre diversi voli giornalieri da Olso, con connessioni con i piccoli aeroporti della zona come Vadsø, Vardø, Båtsfjord, Berlevåg e Mehamn; come pure collegamenti per Alta, Tromsø e altre destinazioni. Puoi anche arrivare in aereo da Helsinki a Ivalo in Finlandia, noleggiare un’auto e proseguire da lì per Varanger.
