VESTLANDS MEET 2026 Espeland Prison Camp Arna Bergen!! This year we’re opening the meet on Thursday, with slightly reduced facilities. There will still be light food and drinks available, and music playing over the speakers. On Friday and Saturday, however, we go all in with live music, a cocktail bar, a BBQ menu, several large shared tents, and vendors who will be exhibiting and selling various items. Nattjazz (Nightjazz) is the longest jazz festival in Northern Europe and is arranged annually in late May / early June in Bergen. The choir is founded and led by conductor Benedicte Sjøvold. iKor is a versatile choir from Stavanger that performs a wide range of genres including pop, rock, folk, classical, and film music. As an extreme metal festival, Beyond the Gates arose from the ashes of the cult Hole in the Sky festival in 2013. Renowned for curating some of the best lineups in extreme metal has grown into a favorite summer event for heavy music fans all over the globe. The festival will take place for four days across multiple venues, including USF Verftet, Kulturhuset, and the legendary Grieghallen, where many seminal Norwegian black metal albums were recorded in the 90s. Beyond the Gates experience In addition to this massive extreme metal event, Beyond the Gates offers attendees unique and exciting opportunities to explore Norwegian and black metal culture in this historic city! For years, fans have been flocking to Bergen to experience their favorite Norwegian artists in their home environment. Nature and local culture has always been a poignant source of inspiration for the bands emerging from the Bergen scene. Festival cinematografici internazionali
Per i veri cinefili la Norvegia ospita numerosi festival cinematografici internazionali. Il Tromsø International Film Festival, a gennaio, ha un’atmosfera artica davvero speciale, mentre il festival Film fra Sør (Film dal Sud) a Oslo è dedicato a titoli nuovi e interessanti da Asia, Africa e Sud America. Bergen ospita il popolare festival cinematografico internazionale BIFF, che si svolge solitamente a ottobre.
E, non da ultimo, c’è anche un’ampia scelta di festival teatrali e letterari.

For over 70 years the Bergen International Festival has been an international meeting-place for creative forces and people of diverse backgrounds. The programme builds on classical music and theatrical art, branching out in a variety of directions. The Festival embraces international stars and newcomers, capacious concert halls and intimate recitals, the old, the new, and everything that occurs when they come together. The UNESCO city of Bergen, encompassing such historical venues as the home of composer Edvard Grieg and the 750-year-old royal seat Håkonshallen, is the backdrop for hundreds of experiences of living art and memories for life created by the Festival for fifteen days in spring every year. The Bergen International Festival coalesces when art forms meet, in encounters between tradition and renewal, reflection and rejoicing, stage and auditorium. About the Bergen International Festival • The Festival is under the patronage of His Majesty King Harald V. • Presents music, opera, theatre, dance, debates and family events during 15 days in May/June every year. • The first Bergen International Festival was held in 1953. • Lars Petter Hagen has been the Festival director since 2022. • The Bergen International Festival had an attendance of 72.000 in 2023.
