Whether you’re a boat owner or simply someone who loves coastal life and maritime culture, the Risør Wooden Boat Festival is something you should add to your summer plans. The festival is one of Europe’s most important and beloved celebrations of wooden boats and coastal heritage. Every year, 10–12,000 visitors gather during the first weekend of August to see some of the world’s most beautiful wooden boats and to experience traditional craftsmanship and coastal culture. We host a wide range of concerts – from intimate performances to large outdoor shows – featuring local, national, and international artists. There are regattas for classic sailboats, motorboats, skiffs, rowing boats, and more. Children can enjoy dedicated activities including pirate adventures, shows, entertainment, and even hands-on boatbuilding. At the heart of the festival is the impressive display of wooden boats: elegant motorboats, small skiffs, graceful sailing yachts, tall ships, Viking boats, Colin Archer rescue vessels, steamships, fishing boats, workhorses from the past, and many other classic wooden craft. Stroll along the harbour and take in the boats and lively atmosphere, feel the excitement of the sailing regattas in the archipelago just outside Risør, or watch the motorboat parade accompanied by the roar of classic engines.Stavanger15.01.2027 - 30.01.2027Glød Light Festival in Stavanger
