The Skeletons Tell the Story – Sean Denham at the Museum of Archaeology, University of Stavanger

Skeletons are scientific time capsules that reveal details about past human lives. Through osteological analysis, we can gain insight into tragic fates, lifestyles and migration patterns in the past.

Over the past seven years, Sean Denham has carried out excavations in and around Stavanger Cathedral. Sean is an osteologist at the Museum of Archaeology, University of Stavanger (UiS), specialising in the analysis of human remains.

He will explain how he can “read” skeletons and what they can tell us about life in Rogaland in the past.
