Winter kayaking & sauna in Ålesund

This is the perfect trip for the unexperienced kayaker or the ones who would like a nice and different introduction to the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. The Gulf stream will give good temperatures in the water and at this time the water is really clear and will give the opportunity to see booth fishes & starfish´s. This winter kayaking trip is with no doubt one of the most adventurous ways to explore Ålesund during this time of the year.

We meet up at Uteguiden activity centre at Notenesgata 3 in Ålesund city which is a perfect starting point for kayak trips. Here you will get kitted out with all the mandatory equipment. After the safety briefing before it´s time to leave. All guides are kayak guides and have a great local knowledge – something that will assure you a great day out on the water. On these trips we use our stable tandem kayaks which will ensure us a great experience for all levels.

Do you think it sounds cold to kayak in the winter? When you get kitted with dry suite and get down in the kayak it´s actually really warm. Your whole lower body will be warm down in the kayak and the upper part will be moving most of the time.

We round off the tour at Svai sauna to get that extra heat back to our bodies - this is a truly unique experience!
