Jorddøgn literature festival places the earth, agriculture and nature at the heart of literature. The festival brings together authors, experts and the public for discussions and events that explore the relationship between people, nature, food production and culture.
This year’s festival will take place from 16 to 18 October 2026. The programme includes, amongst other things, discussions with Marit Eikemo, Inger Bråtveit and Kristin Armstrong Oma, lectures and mini-lectures, a book launch, a reading and a family event with a workshop. Peter F. Strassegger will read the entire novel *Gris*, whilst Thure Erik Lund will deliver this year’s Jorddøgn lecture.
The events will take place at venues including Mellombel’s beer hall, Time Library in Bryne and the old vicarage in Hå.
Jorddøgn aims to create a meeting place for both farmers and city dwellers, using literature as a starting point for reflection and conversation about the soil, nature and the society of which we are a part.
