SKAAR is playing at Skala!

This fall, SKAAR and her band will embark on a small and intimate tour, where she will play the upcoming album from start to finish.

Three years ago SKAAR released her previous album, Mad Woman, and now the artist can reveal that new music is on the way. This time it has been about finding a way back to where she started: the music she loved growing up, the joy of playing, and the feeling of being present in what is happening.

– A big part of the writing process for this project has been taking back things and references I loved growing up. That means, among other things, playing endless amounts of guitar, laughing to old Coldplay songs, and listening to rock music with my band.

The same approach has characterized the recording of the upcoming album. This spring, SKAAR and the band went into the studio and recorded the entire album live, together. It was a way to get closer to both the music and each other, while at the same time turning down some of the noise around them.

– I have felt through this process that it has been so liberating to put down the phone and social media in order to be able to go deep into the subject and find a return to a kind of childlike joy in music. It has been so fun and rewarding that I wanted to share that feeling with everyone!

In October, she will take the band on the road on what she describes as her very first rock club tour. The concerts will be the first opportunity to hear the new songs on smaller stages, where both the band and the audience get up close and personal. At the same time, there will of course be room for old favorites and songs from SKAAR's previous releases.

For SKAAR, this tour is as much about the feeling in the room as it is about presenting new music: a few evenings where the phone can hopefully stay in your pocket a little longer, and where both band and audience can be present in the same moment.

You are welcome!
