Late in the summer we received an electronic message from a veteran of sound-cooking here on the West Coast.

Gunnar Innvær was able to report that he had finished his first solo album. What a pleasant surprise we thought, and opened the listening link with the title «Mørkeloftet». This was good stuff - beautiful manipulated field recordings of wind and weather from abandoned buildings and national parks, mixed with minimalist analogue electronics.

Old hands know him best as Barabass, one of the city's absolute DJ veterans, who also has several bands and art projects on his CV. In recent years he has spent much of his time on sound and music for dance, among others as sound director at Carte Blanche. So strictly speaking he is not a debut artist, but this album is in fact his solo debut. On Friday 9 October the material can be experienced live at Østre.

Afterwards we turn up the tempo with a couple of other debut artists. Stian Lundberg and MOR are both playing at Østre for the first time. LOOK-A has been here before, and therefore takes on the role of the experienced one in the company. The three take over after the concert and play us further into the night.
