GURO - release concert The thief + soup: Amaida

Behind the artist name GURO we find Guro Røvik Marstad from Melhus in Trøndelag - a distinctive voice in the Norwegian music landscape, where soul meets Americana in a warm and powerful expression.
After about two years in a writing and playing bubble, it's time for a grand celebration of GURO's upcoming concept album on home turf. On Thursday, October 15th, GURO will be coming to Tyven!

On October 2, GURO will release their second studio album, Roots, which was recorded at the renowned Ocean Sound in Giske. The album tells of relationships and belonging, of hope and necessary reconciliation. Roots marks a shift in GURO's sound - both musically and lyrically. The music began as soul in Trøndelag in 2015, and has now landed where it belongs - in Americana land. There, the music can be what it should be: unpolished and playful, but with more honest lyrics than ever before.

With references to Tedeschi Trucks Band and Yebba, GURO unites the raw and the vulnerable in her music. With personal lyrics and a strong band consisting of 7 of her best friends behind her, she delivers a vibrant soundscape with organic playfulness and great energy. It promises a real Americana party, a touch of melancholy and smoking guitar solos.

amaida. blends rnb, soul and funk with heartfelt melodies and lyrics that tackle the complexities of human emotion. She invites listeners to embrace their vulnerability and find solace in the music that she hopes can act as a haven for other overthinking and highly sensitive souls.

The 23-year-old from Trøndelag made an impression at last year's Vill vill vest, her first festival, where she received a 10/10 from Musikknyheter. Her debut single "The Dark Side of the Moon", released in April 2025, was described by Pulsmagasinet as "a debut that smells like stardust", and was recommended on NRK P3's Urørt.
