Experience the spectacular Arctic archipelago from our off-grid camp on the shore of beautiful Rebbenesøy. We offer accommodation in specially designed yurts, with the sea and excellent hiking terrain right outside your door.
The island has everything you need for a memorable holiday and a welcome break from everyday life, even when you are only staying for a weekend. Rebbenesøy has a small grocery shop selling fuel, selected medicines and some fishing equipment.
The island offers beautiful mountain hikes with spectacular views, coral beaches, sea fishing and a rich coastal and cultural history. During winter, the area is also well suited to snowshoeing and skiing.

Our two yurts
The yurts are similar to modern nomadic tents. Each one has a glass dome in the roof and a rustic yet comfortable interior with a cosy atmosphere.
Each yurt has four beds, with space for additional guests to sleep on mattresses on the floor. The beds are made on arrival, and the duvets and pillows are comfortable and of good quality. The yurts are insulated and heated using wood-burning and paraffin stoves, making them comfortable even during winter.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas cooker and a gas-powered fridge with a small freezer compartment. Each yurt has space for a dining table seating up to eight people, as well as a sitting area with two comfortable armchairs.
The camp is not connected to mains electricity or running water. We use solar and wind power and collect rainwater or fetch water from a nearby stream, depending on the season. There are no modern distractions such as television, radio or Wi-Fi, but smaller devices such as mobile phones, tablets and head torches can be charged.
The yurts are allergy-friendly, and smoking and pets are therefore not permitted. Each yurt measures 29 m² and offers plenty of space for clothing, rucksacks and equipment, as well as for spending time together.
The boathouse
The camp also has a boathouse with a welcoming atmosphere and space for groups of up to 14 people. It has a composting toilet but no shower. Guests can manage with a basic wash, take a refreshing dip in the sea or use water from the nearby stream.
The boathouse is also used as the camp office and for storing and drying equipment.
Getting to the camp
There is no road access directly to the camp. Reaching it requires a walk of approximately 15 minutes along a gently undulating path.
During winter, snowshoes or skis may sometimes be necessary. Remember to bring a head torch, as there are no artificial light sources once you round the headland on the way to the camp. This also makes the location well suited to stargazing and watching the northern lights.
