Viking feast & Northern light

Feel the magic and the thrill of the ceremony of sacrifice to the Gods to avoid Ragnarok – the Last Days! Will Volva the Prophetess make signs for winter solstice?

Enjoy a delicious dinner on historical grounds. Vikings in authentic costumes, flickering lights from oil lamps, the smell of tar and smoke - the surroundings for the Viking feast are unique. The drink of the Norse Gods - mead - is also served! THE VIKING CHIEFTAIN and his wife invites you into the longhouse. The size, location and the interior reveals that the Chieftain was wealthy and powerful. The lady of the house serves the best food for this festive occasion; leg of lamb from Lofoten, accompanied by tasteful garnish. The meal is seasoned with locally grown spices and stories told during the meal. Traditional dancing rounds off the meal, too. THE LARGEST VIKING LONGHOUSE known in the world of Vikings was found at Borg in Lofoten. The Viking feast takes place in the full size (83 m) reconstructed longhouse, either in the richly decorated feasting hall or in the intimate living quarters. We also invite you to study the longhouse and the archaeological exhibitions. PRACTICAL INFORMATION: Meet at Lofotr Viking Museum, main entrance during our opening hours.
