Are you looking for the ultimate once-in-a-lifetime adventure? Journey through Fjord Norway, from Bergen to Stavanger, and join guided hikes to Trolltunga, Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), and Kjerag along the way. Simplify your experience – leave the planning up to us!
Are you looking for an ultimate once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventure? Have you dreamed about visiting Norway’s spectacular fjords, but have a limited amount of time? Experience three of Fjord Norway’s most iconic natural wonders in just 5 days. Journey through the region’s scenic countryside and join professionally-guided hikes to Trolltunga, Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), and Kjerag.
10,000 years ago, the last ice age ended and massive glaciers scraped their way from the mountain tops down toward sea level. In the process, Norway’s rugged landscapes, most notably its fjords, were uncovered. Some of the world’s most spectacular outdoor scenery can be enjoyed from atop Preikestolen, Trolltunga, and Kjerag, all of which are located deep within Norway’s rugged wilderness. The iconic locations also share the distinction of being three of Norway’s most popular outdoor tourist attractions.
Trolltunga, or the troll’s tongue, is a long rock that juts out from a cliffside, 700 meters above Ringedalsvatnet lake. During the Trolltunga Classic Hike, guests hike the 26-kilometer-long trail while experiencing some of the rawest nature found in all of Fjord Norway. Along the way, visitors pass through a variety of landscapes including forests and barren, glacier-scoured mountaintops.
Preikestolen, which clings 604 meters above sea-level, is a 25×25 meter rock plateau, offering panoramic views of the Lysefjord and its surrounding mountains. While the vast majority of visitors hike to Preikestolen along the main trail during daytime hours, our signature sunrise hike allows guests to experience the beauty of the Lysefjord in near-solitude. Hike to Preikestolen during twilight hours and catch the sun rising over the Lysefjord before the crowds of tourists have even begun to make their way up the trail.
Kjerag’s famous boulder is a glacial rock that is wedged in a mountain crevasse, 984 meters above the Lysefjord. Cruise and enjoy the spectacular Lysefjord on our early-morning Kjerag Beat the Crowds Hike. During the hike to the boulder, you’ll encounter 3 periods of steep climbing interspersed with 2 shallow valleys, and cross a mountain plateau. If you’re among the brave, you’ll have the opportunity to stand atop the Kjerag boulder.
Our professional guides are trained to safely maneuver rapidly-changing weather and trail conditions, and carry with them all necessary navigation, safety, and first-aid equipment. During the hikes, they will share stories about local natural and cultural history.
Between hikes, travel by car/bus through the Norwegian countryside, and enjoy a variety of landscapes including meadows, lakes, narrow valleys, mountains, and fjords.
