HAUGESUND

The Rising Tide by Jason DeCaires Taylor

The Rising Tide by Jason DeCaires Taylor is located in Kvalsvik just north of Haugesund. The Rising Tide was originally set in the Thames in London.

The Rising Tide changes with the tide and is a beautiful sight in Kvalsvik. The four sculptures allude to the retired work horses while drawing attention to our continuous dependence on fossil fuels and the apocalyptic climate change they potentially represent. The questions they address are: Who is responsible, and where are we headed?
