A letter dated 1641 provides the earliest written evidence of accommodation at Skjerjehamn. And they gladly still offer our guests hospitality today.

Just 90 minutes from Bergen, Skjerjehamn has been providing the perfect getaway since 1941. A letter from 1641 is the oldest proof that there has been an inn at Skjerjehamn. In the old Swiss villa, time has almost stood still, and even though the villa has been modernized to today´s standard, the old style has been taken care of. Skjerjehamn lets you really recharge the batteries with fantastic cultural and natural experiences all year round. 

Travelling by express boat to Skjerjehamn is a comfortable way to journey through the beautiful landscape of coastlines and fjords. The express boat makes a trip to and from Bergen twice a day, Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays the boat makes one trip a day. 

Restaurant Enjoy a better dinner with focus on local and short-distance food. Here you will fine home-smoked trout or veal from the local farm. Enjoy a locally brewed beer with the food. The restaurant can accommodate up to 110 people, and Steenkjellaren can accommodate up to 35 people. 

Blue Garden The Blue Garden is a live outdoor exhibition about aquaculture. Through a range of practical installations, you can find out all about modern farming of salmon and trout, its importance to Norway today, and in the future. The exhibition covers a 300 metre long pathway. Signposts are in English. Brochures in other languages available at the kiosk.
