Bikes are out for the summer! The Lyngen Alps: single trails, challenging rides, midnight sun and the first northern lights; what else can you expect from an MTB holiday in Northern Norway? The Lyngen Alps is Norway’s hottest freeriding and ski touring region – and the biking opportunities don’t shy here either. A new but fast-growing community of bikers have discovered the Lyngen Alps and Northern Norway in recent years, and we would like to welcome you to join us!
If you’re looking for wide, smooth roads for the climb, you’ll be disappointed. You must work hard, pedal and often even hike your bike to the top. When you’ve reached the top, incredible views over mountains and fjords offer a taste of the grand descent on flowy and technical trails down to the beach. The setting - the ocean, the fjords, nature’s play of colours- is sovereign and incomparable to anywhere else you’ve biked.
We can assist your group in putting together a memorable holiday in the Lyngenfjord region. Alternatively, use this template itinerary to build your own self-guided tour. Book accommodation with a full board, sauna and hot tub or camp in one of the many camping sites – whichever fits your style!

Bike rides in Norway are not comparable to the ones in the Alps. Before you can hop on your bike for the downhill, you have to pedal, carry or hike your bike to the top. On the downhill we will find ourselves on the less traveled, technical trails.
The descent offers stunning views and impressions of the unique landscape. Sometimes we will go on several smaller rides on one day, so that we maximize our experience of the fjords on Northern Norway. The weather can change quickly and we might start out in pouring rain and end our day with the sun warming up our descent to the ocean.
Sufficient strength and fitness to manage approximately 1,000 vertical meters of ascent and downhill per day. Safe and confident bike handling on trails with an S2-3 rating. Experience on alpine trails (sure-footedness) and in handling short pushing or carrying passages. Sometimes it makes sense to do two shorter rides on one day.
If you are not an experienced biker, don’t worry. You have plenty of easy, shorter trails in the region to get a taste of MTB in Northern Norway. The peaks you can reach by foot too!
