Oslo

Race up Oslos Bratteste

Challenge yourself on Oslo's steepest run on a 2.7-kilometre (1.7-mile) course that climbs almost 400 metres (0.25 miles) all the way to the top of Oslo Winter Park. This well-known course is a perfect way to benchmark your fitness, and of course brag to your friends and family that you've taken on this steep and demanding route. The top racers finish in less than 15 minutes! But don't be discouraged; the average person does it in around 45 minutes. The course starts at the bottom chairlift station of the Wyllerløypa run and climbs straight up the ski hill called the Helveteskneika section. The second section is called Wyller. Once you have done the second section, you have already climbed 300 metres. At the top of the ski run the trail starts to plateau. Follow the gravel trail to the right. This middle section is 550 metres of slightly downhill or flat terrain. The last stretch of the race is 630 metres up from the chairlift station at Hyttli, right up to the top of Tryvann. Congrats – you've made it! Difficulty level: Difficult Elevation: 160-530 metres above sea level Time consumption: 0,5-1 hour Good to know: Bring shoes with good tread as the trail is steep and has some loose terrain. Transportation: Take metro no. 1 to Voksenkollen station. Walk to Oslo Winter Park and then to the bottom of the hill before challenging yourself on the way up. Description courtesy of Outtt.
