Private cruise from Bergen through the Alverstraumen strait

The tour takes you from Bergen harbor with a view of UNESCO World Heritage Site Bryggen and the wooden buildings along the city fjord.

Heading north through Byfjorden, you can see how the city’s development unfolded as it grew, and you might catch a glimpse of where the world's steepest mountain race route is leading up to Sandvikspilen.

The course is then set towards Litle Bergen, a picturesque village on the sheltered side of the island Håøyna. In the past, this was where people kept watch for enemies, enjoying the magnificent view from the top. The journey continues across Radfjorden towards Alverstraumen, passing through the historic cultural landscape.

The tour heads north, weaving between islets and skerries before rounding towards Solholmen. The captain keeps a steady course through the narrow strait of the old main fairway southward. The route then leads under Hagelsund Bridge and onwards to Nordhordland Bridge, once the world’s longest floating bridge. The journey passes the historic industrial village of Salhus, known for its rich history, before continuing toward the city between the seven mountains.

As you approach Byfjorden, you will see the city of Bergen nestled between the seven mountains. For old sailors, the approach to Bergen was one of the two most beautiful harbor approaches in the world, and it’s easy to see why as you get closer.
