Northern Lights Chase with Professional Photographers

Join an evening Northern Lights chase by bus from Tromsø. Your guide uses weather forecasts and local knowledge to choose the destination with the best available conditions for the evening. The route varies from night to night and may extend as far as Finland, so remember to bring your passport or a valid ID card.

During the tour, the guide will share information about the Northern Lights and help you photograph them using your camera or phone. Professional aurora portraits may also be taken during the tour and purchased in high resolution afterwards.

Depending on the conditions, the group may remain at one location or visit several different places during the evening. The tour normally lasts 4–8 hours.

If you do not see the Northern Lights, you may receive a 50% discount on another tour, subject to the provider's terms and availability. Northern Lights sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Not included:

• No photos are included free of charge. Professional aurora portraits can be purchased in high resolution after the tour.

Food and drinks: Hot drinks and biscuits are included. Plant-based and gluten-free options are available.

Please bring: Warm clothing in several layers, a hat, scarf, gloves or mittens, drinking water and a passport or valid ID card

Important information:

• The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
• If the group consists of fewer than 17 participants, the tour may use a vehicle without a toilet.
• The vehicle is normally heated but may gradually become colder on particularly cold evenings. Dress warmly for both the journey and the time spent outdoors.
• Please provide the age and weight of any children when booking so that the provider can try to arrange a suitable child seat. Boarding may be refused if this information is not provided in advance.
• If you do not see the Northern Lights, you may receive a 50% discount on another tour. The offer is subject to availability, is non-refundable and may only be used by the person who made the original booking.
• The discount cannot be guaranteed after the final tour of the season.
• Tours normally operate in cloudy, rainy or snowy weather but may be cancelled due to extreme weather or unsafe driving conditions. If this happens, you will be offered another date or a full refund.
• No refund or discount will be provided if you do not arrive by the departure time.
• NorthernShots Tours may cooperate with another provider to ensure departure. You will be informed if this results in a different meeting point.
• Surfaces may be slippery at the locations visited.
• High-season periods are 19 December–9 January and 7–27 February. Tours are often fully booked during these periods.
