Hiking with local guides in Dovrefjell to look for musk ox’s.

Starts from Hjerkinnhus all summer, every day at 10 AM (June 20 to August 20). From August 21 to June 19, the tour is arranged upon request. Private buses depart at 9.15 AM from Dombås and takes passengers without a car (NOK 100 roundtrip).

Book 24 hours in advance for NOK 450, - or drop-in NOK 495, -

Groups of 2 - 20 with their own guide who bring telescopic binoculars. Binoculars are also available for rent.
The tour takes about 5-6 hours. Bring food for hiking up to 6 hours. Remember to wear water repellent hiking shoes and warm clothes.

The tours are for everyone, 7-15 km and lasts about 5 hours, depending on weather and group fitness. Heating / windproof clothing and shoes are recommended, as we go over 1,000 m. Bring a packed lunch and drink. The guide has a telescope.

There is a high possibility of seeing musk, as well as opportunities to see grouse, birds of prey and a small chance of wild reindeer. There are several visible cultural monuments from the time before the mountain became a recreation area.

The hike is leveled low-medium and is recommended for children and adults from 6 years and up.
