In 1983 a big fire burned down two of the large wooden buildings in the Archbishop’s Palace. The Museum was built on the same grounds where these original buildings once stood. During the archeological diggings of the grounds in the 1990s, a lot of exciting elements from the Middle Ages were discovered. Today you can walk through an amazing exhibition of original sculptures from the Cathedral, as well as the results of the archeological diggings, such as an entire mint!
The museum is closed Mondays from 01.09. - 31.05.
