Hille Island Retreat

The island is surrounded by the sea to the west and the Sognefjord to the north, approximately two hours from Bergen. Here you will find calm, stillness and nature at its most magnificent – far from everyday life.

In the middle of the open landscape, surrounded by sea, small islands and with views of the majestic Sognefjord, lies the architect-designed house – perfectly positioned to give you a truly unique and secluded experience. Only two permanent residents live on the island, running a charming farm with sheep, horses and hens, which gives the place a lively yet peaceful character.

Wake up to the light from the horizon and enjoy your morning coffee in bed while looking out over the sea and the Sognefjord. When evening comes, you can sink into the private jacuzzi and experience the sunset in all its glory. Perhaps you have taken a walk on the beautiful island earlier in the day. Or perhaps you sink into the comfortable sofa and enjoy the crackling fireplace while wind, rain and snow lash against the windows in winter.

You can order homemade meals from Eva, or bring your own ingredients and prepare your own dishes in the well-equipped kitchen. A carefully selected range of drinks is available on site – from champagne and wine to Norwegian cider and more – all to elevate the experience.

Hille Island Retreat is created for those seeking relaxation, closeness to nature and romance in a truly unique setting.

Capacity:

Room for a maximum of 6 persons. Double bed in the bedroom upstairs, with the option of 2 extra beds/mattresses. A baby cot is set up free of charge if needed. Sofa bed (bed width 140 cm) for 2 persons in the living room downstairs.

Access:

To get here, you can take a boat from Bergen (approx. 2 hours). When you have made a booking at Hille Island Retreat, you will receive an email telling you which boat to take and where to book your ticket. (Slightly different times and routes depending on the time of year you travel.)

To drive to Hille from Bergen takes around 2.5 hours. We will meet you at the quay at Hille and walk with you to the glamping site. The walk is mostly on flat terrain and takes about 10 minutes.

The retreat is beautifully located and is completely secluded. (But maybe you get a visit from a sheep or a horse?)
