Hagland Nature Park

Hagland Fortress is a German Navy coastal battery from WWII, the only one of its kind in the Haugesund area. Here you can experience the breathtaking scenery where the North Sea and Slettå, a known route going along the coast, are competing to reach the shore. 

It is possible for you to experience the area's rich history and fascinating cultural landscapes. Through paths and information boards, you can experience the story from World War II with bunkers and gun emplacements.

The area also has history from the Viking times, mining in the 1800s and one of the country's first casualty protection schools, besides all the stories Slettå can tell.

The area offers beautiful scenery with rocks, heaths and woodlands. Take the time to see and experience nature with its animal and plant life, maybe you are lucky enough to see eagles, deer or adder.

The park is equipped with a play area and obstacle course for fun experiences and activities for children and adults.

Feel free to bring food and enjoy the picnic grounds, with possibility to barbeque.
