Destination mountain farm Mokk

Mokk farm is located close to Skjækerfjella mountains and is a paradise for those who love the outdoors. A visit to Mokk will re-charge your battteries and is a balm for body and soul. Several marked trails start in the farm yard and you can walk for days in Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella national park. You will find many beautiful fishing lakes in the area. In winter you can go cross-country skiing in great conditions.

Caving and mine tours
Near the farm there are limestoen caves and copper mines from the 18th century. Mokk farm offer guided tours to the caves and mines and you will be given all the equipment needed.  p

Canoeing
The canoe trip from Hyllbrua to Støa in Ogndal was named one of the 5 best canoe trips in the country in 2020 by the Nationen magazine. Ogna is the ultimate starting point for a leisurely canoe trip with family and friends. Here you can paddle on flat water in the river, go ashore, picnic at one of the many facilitated picnic spots and paddle on. The river is calm and you get close to nature. It is also possible to rent a canoe on lake Lustadvatnet.

Hiking opportunities
With Mokk as a starting point, you will find good hiking opportunities throughout the year. You can follow the marked trail to the Geographical Mid-point of Norway or you can walk along one of the many other marked paths in the area.
You can also experience the mighty nature in the edge zone of Blåfjella-Skjækerfjella National Park from the bike seat. For example, this bike ride from Rokdalen in Snåsa via Mokk to Malså in Verdal.

Fishing opportunities
If fishing is you fashion, Steinkjer Kommuneskoger offer free fishing in nearly 60 lakes. You can also fish in lake Mokkavatnet not far from the farm.

Skiing and winter hiking
In winter you can go skiing and come ona a guided snowshoeing tour in the area clsoe to the farm. ride. The trips can be carried out during the day, at dusk or in the evening with a headlamp. Or you can rent snowshoes from Mokk and go winter hiking on your own.
