Aurora Safari is our complete, flexible and a small-group Northern Lights tour where we offer you all the comfort, safety and local awareness that you are looking for on a Northern Lights Chase.
This tour is conducted by Best Arctic.
A flexible Aurora chase in a small group
Every evening from September to April offers a chance to see the Northern Lights in Tromsø. With more than 17 years of experience and around 8,500 tours operated, Northern Lights safaris are what we are best known for. This Northern Lights minibus tour from Tromsø is one of our most popular experiences.
Our team consists of experienced and dedicated guides together with skilled local drivers, all working to make safety our highest priority in Arctic conditions. Using local knowledge, weather forecasts and live updates from the field, the guides continuously search for the best possible locations to see the Aurora Borealis. When multiple minibuses are operating, the guides stay in contact throughout the evening to share weather conditions and coordinate the best route for the tour.
Travelling by minibus allows us to move flexibly between locations and maximise the chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Each minibus accommodates a maximum of 14 guests, ensuring a more personal and comfortable experience.
An entertaining Northern Lights experience
Chasing the Northern Lights also requires patience. While waiting for Lady Aurora to appear, your guide will share stories about this fascinating natural phenomenon as well as life in the Arctic.
Weather permitting, a cosy bonfire will be made to keep everyone warm, while thermal winter suits are also provided. Hot drinks and local snacks are served during the evening.
Whenever possible, we bring guests to our private Northern Lights camps through agreements with local landowners. These unique locations offer excellent viewing conditions, along with access to shelters and toilets.
A Northern Lights photography experience
Our experienced team will take winter and Northern Lights portraits of you, as well as landscape photos throughout the evening, so you can bring home lasting memories from your Arctic adventure.
If you would like to photograph the Northern Lights yourself, your guide will gladly assist with camera settings and provide a tripod free of charge.
Low-resolution images suitable for social media are included in the tour. High-resolution versions without watermark are available for purchase shortly after the tour.
