Chase the Northern Lights in a small group and enjoy a campfire, a warm meal, hot drinks and digital photos from the evening.

This tour is operated by Northern Norway Travel.

Your evening begins at the Northern Norway Travel Shop at Tromsø Havn Prostneset. Check-in opens 30 minutes before departure. Help yourself to complimentary coffee or tea while you meet the other participants and your guide, who will explain the weather conditions and the plan for the evening.

Before the tour, you will receive a weather update at 9 AM. If poor conditions are forecast across the entire region, you may request to rebook, subject to availability, or cancel for a full refund by 12 noon on the day of the tour. The tour will still operate unless the driving conditions are considered unsafe.

When it is time to depart, you will travel in a Mercedes Sprinter with a professional driver and a trained and certified guide. The route is chosen according to the latest weather forecasts and may extend as far as Finland.

During the journey, your guide will share stories and information about Northern Norway and the science behind the Northern Lights. Once a suitable location has been found, you can put on the provided thermal suit before making your way to the campfire. Here, you can enjoy a freshly prepared warm meal, hot drinks and snacks while waiting for the Northern Lights.

Your guide will help capture photos from the evening. All digital photos taken during the tour will be available to download within 48 hours.

The tour lasts approximately 5–7 hours, depending on the weather and how far the group needs to travel. After the tour, you will return to Prostneset. If your accommodation is located along the return route, it may be possible to arrange an earlier drop-off.
