A personal boutique hotel in the centre of Stavanger. Villa Eckhoff Bed & Breakfast offers a historic atmosphere, modern comforts and a peaceful location.
Just 800 meters from the main square, the heart of Stavanger, you’ll find this unique Swiss-style villa from the late 1800’s. Villa Eckhoff is a modern villa on the inside with facilities such as an elevator and underfloor heating, yet the authentic interior is preserved in a charming continental style.
The villa has six spacious and elegant double rooms, each uniquely decorated and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. In addition to generous rooms, there is also a large, secluded terrace exclusively for guests. A delicate continental breakfast is included in the room rate. A coffee machine and kettle are always available for guests.
The secluded location ensures that your stay will be both relaxing and pleasant, remaining conveniently close to the city centre, so you can enjoy everything the cultural city of Stavanger has to offer. You’ll also have a very short walking distance to the airport bus shuttle, local buses, and the train station. At Villa Eckhoff, everyone should feel a little at home.
Villa Eckhoff has an interesting and varied history. The villa has housed a soda factory and a business school, banquet facilities and an antique shop, German occupiers during World War II (bullet holes still visible), and famous cultural personalities. In various forms, lodging has remained a cornerstone of the villa since its beginning, often combined with residential quarters for the villa’s owners. Today’s family‑run Villa Eckhoff also has the owners living on the upper floors.
The villa was originally designed by architect Hartvig Sverdrup Eckhoff, who also designed several Norwegian church buildings and a number of Stavanger’s monumental buildings in the late 1800s.
Feel free to read more about the history and architecture on the hotel website, where you can also book rooms for your next stay in Stavanger.
