Hopefully, we'll see the magical northern lights dancing across the sky while dogsledding through the Polar night. Svalbard is an arctic desert and we never know when the first snow arrives. We run the dogs in front of sleds or wagons with wheels depending on the snow conditions. The dogs are eager and looking forward to the winter no matter what.
This trip is perfect for experienced dog mushers as well as for those who have never tried dogsledding before. We will adjust the trip based on experience and interest. All guests get strong headlamps, so the darkness is no limitation for a great outdoor experience.
The trip includes pick up/return to your place of accommodation, equipment, clothing, and an experienced guide. At the end of the trip, you're invited for lunch in our cabin, where we'll show you pictures from our trips around Svalbard, to the North Pole, and from the world's longest dog sledding race, Iditarod.
Arctic Husky Travellers is a small family business 10 km outside Longyearbyen, where we now have been for almost 10 years. In our kennel we have 56 great sled dogs that we travel with both summer and winter.
Agelimit: 8 years.
Younger children only upon request.
Weight limit: 110kg per person
