Experience Bergen from the sea

A boat tour in Bergen is a calm and atmospheric way to experience the city, where you glide through historic surroundings and dramatic western Norwegian scenery.

The tour usually begins near Bryggen, the iconic, colorful wooden buildings listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. From the water, you get a unique perspective of the slightly leaning facades and the long history dating back to the Hanseatic era.

As the boat slowly moves out into Vågen harbor, the landscape opens up, and you can look up toward Fløyen and Ulriken, two of the most famous mountains surrounding the city. Low-hanging clouds often create a mystical atmosphere—typical of western Norway.

You'll then pass Bergenhus Fortress, one of Norway's oldest and best-preserved fortifications. Here you can see the historic Håkon's Hall and the Rosenkrantz Tower, both reminders of Bergen's role as a center of power in the Middle Ages.

As the boat continues toward more open fjord areas, small islands and boathouses appear scattered along the coastline. You might also spot seagulls following the boat—or even a seal surfacing in the water.

The sound of waves against the hull, the fresh sea air, and the views of both city and mountains make the boat tour a relaxing and memorable experience. It's a perfect way to experience Bergen—whether it's your first visit or you want to see the city from a new perspective.

Departure from Holbergskaien. Meet at the pier 10 minutes before departure. Participants will be given life jackets (and suits if necessary), and a safety briefing will be conducted by the captain.

The trip is suitable for everyone from 5 years of age and up, but the trip is not recommended for people with back and/or neck injuries. It is also not suitable for pregnant women who are more than 3 months along in their pregnancy.

The trip combines calm cruising with high speed and fun.

For cancellations received up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure, you will receive a full refund. For cancellations received less than 24 hours before the scheduled departure, we don't offer refunds. Contact the point of sale where you purchased the ticket in case of cancellation.
