About Preikestolen and the hike
The Preikestolen plateau towers 600 metres above the Lysefjord in Rogaland. The hike to Preikestolen takes about two hours for those who are used to walking in rough terrain. For children and hikers with less experience of hiking in the mountains, the hike will take longer. The hike is three to four kilometres one way with an altitude difference of 350 metres.
