Cruise with us on our hybrid-electric boat and experience the fjords around Tromsø, combining unspoiled nature, wildlife, and local history. From fish below to birds above, enjoy scenic views as we pass historic coastal sites, including a former Cold War submarine base. Step ashore in an old fishing warehouse and learn about the traditions and lifeline of Norwegian coastal communities.

This tour is conducted by Brim Explorer.

Our first destination is Ramfjorden, where we head towards Holman Island, a small island in the fjord with a fascinating story. Today, it rests quietly in the fjord. Here, we deploy our underwater drone, offering a live view of Arctic marine life, from starfish and kelp forests to crab and cod habitats. Also visible in Ramfjorden is Olavsvern. A former Cold War submarine base carved into the mountainside that has found new life in the last few years.

After Ramfjorden, we cross to Kvaløya, where we set foot ashore at Rya, home to an old fishing facility and warehouse. You can explore a small exhibitions, traditional drying rack, and enjoy a local tasting surprise. You’ll learn how cod fishing has shaped families, culture, and daily life in Northern Norway for thousands of years and why skrei and stockfish remain central to the region today.

On the return journey, we cruise past Tromsøya and Håkøya, where WWII history of the battleship Tirpitz meets quiet scenes of modern island life. Our guides highlight key landmarks while sharing the history of these waters.

Please note!
• This is not our Silent Whale Watching tour
• The stop on land and underwater drone is weather dependant
