Skjåk
500 fjell is a mountain guiding company run by IFMGA mountain guide Sondre Kvambekk. He is based in Skjåk, with the national parks Jotunheimen, Breheimen, and Reinheimen as his closest neighbors. 500 fjell offers both courses and guided trips in ski touring and high-mountain climbing year-round.
Sondre Kvambekk is an internationally certified mountain guide through NORTIND, which is the highest level of education in high-mountain guiding in the world.
Through the company 500fjell, Kvambekk offers mountain guiding in both summer and winter, as well as glacier courses, climbing courses, and avalanche courses. He has a strong passion for nature and the high mountains, and has all of Norway’s mountain peaks over 2,000 meters on his résumé. Sondre has climbed all the peaks in Hurrungane in under 24 hours, completed Høgruta in Jotunheimen in just over 14 hours, and at age 19 became the youngest ever to summit all of Norway’s 376 mountain peaks over 2,000 meters (primary factor 10).
