Cycling tour "The Marivold round" 17 km

Start by the tourist information and follow Smith Petersens gate towards Arendal, past Grimstad Church and Grimstad Town Hall. Follow the foot and cycle path straight ahead across Biesletta. Cross the road by the Bieheia turn-off, and continue along the foot and cycle path on the right hand side of route 420. At Vikkilen, turn right and follow the signs for Rønnes. After 2 km, you will reach Grimstad Golf Club. Continue straight ahead, past Drottningborg. You will then reach the garden centre Hesnes Gartneri where you can stock up on refreshments, vegetables, or ovenfresh pastries. Follow the tarmac road all the way to Rønnes, and enjoy the beautiful views across to Grimstad town centre. Continue on, and after a few hundred metres you will reach a narrow wooden bridge where you can cross over to Marivold Camping – the ideal spot for a relaxing break and a swim. Follow the road through the camp site, and then continue through the forest until you reach Hesnesveien. Turn right, and follow this route back to town.

Comments: Marivold is a beautiful peninsula that allows you to experience the skerries from the mainland. The swimming opportunities are excellent around the Marivoll campsite. A trip up to Rossekniben is the children's favourite, and you can try your luck fishing at Smørsundet. Heavy traffic at times, particularly along Hesnesveien – please ride with care!
