Susanne Sundfør releases her eighth studio album, Revelations of Divine Love, on 2 October 2026. Following the album’s release, she will embark on a release tour with Kit Downes, featuring exclusive concerts at Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Bergen Cathedral, Kristiansand Cathedral, Stavanger Concert Hall and Oslo Concert Hall.
Revelations of Divine Love marks a new chapter in a career spanning more than two decades, defined by musical curiosity and constant reinvention. Since her previous album, blómi, released in 2023, Sundfør has become a mother of two, left city life behind for the Norwegian countryside and experienced what she describes as the most transformative period of her life.
The forthcoming album grew out of Sundfør’s encounter with the writings of the 14th-century English mystic Julian of Norwich. Revelations of Divine Love is regarded as the first known book written in English by a woman, and Sundfør has drawn the album’s lyrics from Grace Warrack’s 1901 translation.
The album was recorded live at Bragernes Church in Drammen, featuring only Sundfør’s voice and church organ. Together with British composer and organist Kit Downes, she has created a stripped-back and intimate work that moves between hymns, classical music, jazz and Scandinavian church music. Across thirteen tracks, combining singing, spoken passages and instrumental pieces, medieval mysticism meets a contemporary musical expression.
“We live in a world full of horror, where unhappy and dissatisfied people do terrible things to one another. You don’t have to be religious to believe that love is the answer. Replace the word God with love, and you are left with a universal higher power,” says Sundfør.
