“Artificial Intelligence”

Artificial intelligence is already part of our everyday lives, and is likely to play an even greater role in the years ahead. How will this affect our lives and daily routines — for better, but perhaps also for worse?

Morten Goodwin is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Agder. He is co-founder and lead researcher at AI Experts, as well as Deputy Director at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR). With a PhD and more than 20 years of experience, he is recognised as one of Norway’s leading experts on artificial intelligence, balancing roles as professor, educator, public commentator, science communicator and author. He has received the NORA Award for his outstanding contribution to the AI community, education and science communication, as well as the Agder Academy of Sciences’ award for outstanding science communication. Khrono has also listed him among Norway’s 300 most prolific researchers.

Goodwin is involved in and leads a number of major research projects in both fundamental and applied AI research. This includes work in agriculture, aquaculture, cultural production, education, healthcare, industrial optimisation, natural language processing and recommendation systems. His main focus is on the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, as well as demystifying his field of research.

In addition to his academic and research contributions, Goodwin is a government-appointed member of both the Norwegian Data Protection Appeals Board and the Norwegian Board of Technology.
