In November 2026, DumDum Boys celebrate 40 years since the release of their first album – a milestone that confirms the band’s unique place in Norwegian rock history. Following a long-awaited break from an energetic festival season, the band now bring the power of hundreds of thousands of festivalgoers to Norway’s four largest arenas with DumDum Boys – XL [Roman numeral forty].

In the wake of the British punk wave, with bands such as Sex Pistols and The Clash, DumDum Boys began life as Wannskrækk in 1979. In 1985, they adopted the name DumDum Boys, and ever since they have been part of Norway’s collective memory and cultural landscape. New fans continue to discover the band. Praise such as “Norway’s finest live band” has followed them since the beginning – fuelled by rebelliousness and sheer joy in playing.

DumDum Boys have always been trendsetters who never became trendy: subcultural heroes who bring people together for singalongs and celebrations. In a landscape where genres and phenomena come and go, they remain firmly rooted in raw energy, unforgettable melodies and lyrics that have defined generations.

DumDum Boys have been around for a long time – achieving more along the way – and now round off a remarkable career with four unique nights in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim.
