Concert: Julelegender: 2026

It would be hard to find a more intimate Christmas concert.

With just 40 exclusive seats per performance, Kjell Inge Torgersen invites you to a truly special Christmas experience in Valbergtårnet – high above the everyday life of the city.

Since 1658, a watchtower has stood on Valberget in Stavanger. The present stone tower was opened in 1853 and was designed by Christian H. Grosch, who also took part in the design of the Royal Palace in Oslo. At the top, a unique view of Stavanger awaits, with the city's Christmas lights below and birds at eye level.

Julelegender offers a peaceful and different kind of pre-Christmas experience, featuring new stories, new music and familiar Christmas songs in a truly unique setting.

Kjell Inge Torgersen & Aril Schøld

Guitarist and arranger Aril Schøld is joining Kjell Inge Torgersen once again, creating these musical legends together. The two have worked together for more than 25 years, offering close interplay and beautiful arrangements of both familiar and new songs.

Kjell Inge Torgersen is known both as a singer and storyteller, and the combination of music, stories and humour is a central part of Julelegender.

Stavanger – December 2026

There will be 15 exclusive performances at Valbergtårnet, taking place on 14, 15, 16, 18 and 19 December.

Performances are at 6.00 pm, 7.30 pm and 9.00 pm, with the premiere on 14 December at 6.00 pm.

Valbergtårnet accommodates just 40 guests per performance, creating an intimate and exclusive concert experience far removed from the atmosphere of large concert halls.

Established in 2009

Julelegender has been presented since 2009 and has over the years been performed in distinctive venues in Stavanger and elsewhere in Norway.

The 2011 album Julelegender grew out of the performances at Bispekapellet. The album led to an appearance on NRK1's Kvelden før kvelden, and the song “Stjernenatt” was added to NRK P1's A-list.

Kjell Inge Torgersen has received Rogaland County Municipality's cultural grant, the Text Writers' Fund working grant three times, and support from the Composers' Remuneration Fund.
