The Modern Times

"It's a thin line between idiotic and brilliant," a certain musician said.

"It's a thin line between idiotic and brilliant," a certain musician said. That border is at best indistinct when it comes to The Modern Times. Their songs communicate puberty ignorance or pointed satire, or maybe both - it depends on the listener. Their hybrid of angular post-punk, breial punk rock and power pop from the garage seems like little else out there these days. This is also much thanks to singer Magnus Vold Jensen's unique and apt performance.
With second album "Algorhythmic Dance Music", The Modern Times has signed with Black Pop Records and further refined its musical expression. The album sounds like a quarrel between the Parquet Courts and the confused Gang of Four members, while The Hives sneak in front of them in the bar. For example.
In the spring  2019, the Tromsø quintet has released three singles: "Everything Is Going To Be Fine", "It Sure Is Fun To Party" and "Am In Losing Touch", the latter crowned with homemade animated music video that has received a lot of reviews and attention in the international industry, including Clash Magazine in the UK
